The village you lived in was sacked by barbarians . You barely had time to take your child and your favorite fishing rod, before they started burning and looting. You then wandered through an unforgiving desert. That's when you found it! The ideal place to build your new home. But as soon as your makeshift shelter was built, you discovered a vast network of underground caverns full of rare treasures and resources.

Above and Below is a mix of city building game and narrative game in which you and up to three other players compete to build the best village above and below ground. In the game you send your villagers to carry out jobs such as underground exploration, harvesting resources and building houses. Each villager has unique skills and abilities and you must decide how best to use them.

You have your own village council and you dispatch the villagers from that council to different locations to complete their work. Will you send Hanna to explore the cave? Or should she instead spend her time teaching important skills to one of the younger villagers?

In this narrative board game, you will have to build your village. Recruit villagers to explore huge caverns in underground caves. Build your reputation by accomplishing feats worthy of the greatest explorers!
